  • The marriage loan law of 1933 declared that if a women left their job and got married, they could apply for a loan of up to 10000 marks. The loan would be cancelled when a woman has four children
  • The divorce law in 1933 allowed a husband to divorce his wife if she was infertile or had an abortion
  • The mothers cross given to mothers based on the number of children they had:
    Bronze - 4 children
    silver - 6 children
    gold - 8 children
  • The youth of germany were forced to clap for women in the streets who had the mothers cross
  • In 1935, Himmler introduced lebensborn. This encouraged single women to breed with SS men to create racially pure children.
  • Between 1938 and 1941, 540 women gave birth apart of the lebensborn programme
  • The nazi regime did not typically force women to wear women to dress a certain way, however they did encourage modest dressing such as hair in a bun and no make-up
  • Women were expected to leave professional jobs and become a mother
  • Nazi policies towards women were only sometimes effective as most women did not like Scholtz-Klink, the leader of the women's league
