    A person's admission into the Church. The act of baptism represents the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Shows a new beginning

    Those who believe in God

    As soon as they have decided they have faith or trust in Jesus

    By immersion
  • Why should sprinkling not be used at baptism?
    The word baptise means to immerse. Has to be immersed not sprinkled. All examples of baptism in the New Testament are immersion. It demonstrates being buried with Jesus and being raised to live a new life.
  • 5 reasons to be baptised
    - baptism is obedience to Jesus' command. In Matthew 'go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit'
    - follows Jesus' example
    - Baptism is public identification with Jesus. Just as Jesus identified with us in his baptism, we identify with Jesus
    - symbolic with our spiritual death and new life with Jesus. Jesus was resurrected, we have been raised to live a new life with him
    - baptism declares the gospel of Jesus
