    Vitamins are micronutrients that are needed for the body to function correctly,as they help to regulate chemical reactions in the body,promote health and prevent diseases. Vitamins are known by letters,but all have chemical names. A balanced diet should provide all the vitamins needed for a healthy body. Vitamins are either fat soluble or water solubl. Lack of any of the vitamins in the diet will mean your body cannot function properly
  • Fat soluble vitamins
    vitamins that dissolve in fat. This includes vitamins A,D,E and K.
  • water soluble vitamins
    vitamins that dissolve in water. This includes B group vitamins and vitamin C.

    Function - helps with vision and promotes a healthy immune system.
    Foods - carrots,sweet potatoes and spinach.
    Deficiency signs - night blindnes,dry skin,and weakened immune system.
