  • Statistical Infrequency - Behaviour that is numerically rare
    • any relatively usual behaviour can be thought of as normal, anything outwards of normal distribution is classed as abnormal
  • (SI) + Real life application
    • all assessments of patients include measurements compared to statistics norms
  • (SI) - Unusual characteristics can be positive
    • less common traits dont always require treating (e.g. IQ) so SI can be misleading
  • (SI) - Not everyone unusual benefits from a label
    • where someone is happy, a label can have negative effects on how they see themselves and are viewed by others
