    • behaviour that is different to a groups' 'norm' which is specific to a culture/age/religion

    • used commonly when diagnosing antisocial personality disorder so has utility as an explanation

    • there are other factors to consider even in diagnosing antisocial p.d.
  • (DSN) - Can lead to human rights abuse
    • too much reliance on deviation can lead to systematic discrimination and abuse of people's rights of being different
