  • 4 meditational processes (proposed by Bandura) ARMM:
    • Attention- noticing behaviours
    • Retention- how well the behaviour is remembered
    • Motor Reproduction- cognitive assessment of physical ability to reproduce the behaviour- (can you do it?)
    • Motivation- the will to perform the behaviour (was behaviour rewarded or punished- more / less likely to copy behaviour)
  • Vicarious Reinforcement:
    • Learning through observation (of the CONSEQUENCES of the behaviour)
    • Imitation- more likely to occur if behaviour is rewarded rather than punished
  • Identification:
    • People more likely to imitate people they identify with (their “role model”)
    • Imitation of behaviour- modelling
    • Role model: High status, similar characteristics, attractive
