  • acceleration: the rate of the change of velocity. it can be caluclated from the gradient of a velocity time graph.
  • Speed is defined as the distance travelled per unit time. If the speed of something is changing, it is accelerating. The acceleration of free fall near to the earth is constant.
  • Velocity is the speed in a given direction
  • Acceleration is the change in velocity per unit time
  • Acceleration is the change in veloocity divided by time taken (a=v-u/t)
  • Weight is the force exerted on an object by gravity and is measured in newtons
  • Weight=mass x gracitational feild strength
  • The weight of an object acts at one point of the object which is referred to as its centre of gravity or centre of mass
