• Representation

  People should be able to put their views to the government
• Accountability

  Goverment should be made to explain and take responsibility for its actions
• Participation

  People can be engaged and take part in the political process
• Power dispersal

  Power spread across different political bodies to avoid one body becoming overly dominant
• Legitimacy

  Selecting different branches should have legal authority and fairly represent the will of the people
• Education

  Political process should be open to all. Educated and informed citizenry who understand the isues can make informed decisions that will benefit the whole country
