Intro

• Throughout the play, Juliet makes the transition from a timid adolescent to a responsible adult.
• However, in the play there is a heightened sense that Juliet has matured too quickly, emphasised by her deception and impetuous thinking which results in her tragic death when she ultimately takes her life into her own hands and kills herself.
