Nature of God

Cards (10)

  • Christians believe in one God who is the creator and the sustainer of all that exists.
  • God is omnipotent: almighty with unlimited power
  • God is benevolent: all-loving and good
  • God is just: A perfect and fair judge
  • The problem of suffering
If God is all these things why does he allow bad things to happen to good and innocent people?
  • Bible Quote on Nature of God: "He guides the humble in what is right, and teaches them His ways"
  • Bible Quote on Nature of God: "For God so loved the world, He gave his one and only Son."
  • Judgementand being Just
The first way in which belief in judgement influences Christians today to behave well. Christians know that God will judge them whether they will go to hell or heaven. Christians will follow 10 commandments, e.g. "Thou shalt not murder"
The second way in which belief in judgement influences Christians today to trust God. Christians think despite lots of unfairness which happens in the world, after people die, they will be judged by God fairly because they believe God is just and there won't be any unfairness on Judgement Day.
  • Omnipotence
One way is that Christians will go to church to praise God for creating everything due to his full power. For example, they sing songs such as 'Our God is a great big God'. The Christians praise God for the creation of the universe and the wonders of the universe. The second way is they will pray. For example, Christians will pray for God for their relatives' health if they are seriously ill in the hospital. They do that because they think God is 'all-powerful' and will heal their relatives. "Nothing is to hard for you"
  • Benevolence
The first way is to worship Jesus because God loved mankind so much that he allowed his son Jesus to die on the cross for mankind to be forgiven. Christians will go to church and pray and thank God for doing that. "For God so loved the world he gave his one and only son" The second way is to love each other. As God has loved mankind so much, Christians believe mankind should love and help each other. Christians donate food, clothes and other things to charity to help the poors.
