    • Self-reports
      any method which involves asking a participant about their personal feelings, attitudes and beliefs about something
    • Questionnaires
      a set of questions or other prompts used to obtain information from a respondent about a topic of interest
    • Open question
      a type of question that requires a detailed response, and invites the person responding to provide information into how they feel and what they think about a subject
    • Closed question
      A type of question that only requires a restricted response and doesn't allow respondents to go into any detail about a topic
    • Interview
      a data collection technique where a researcher engages in direct conversation with individuals to gather information about their thoughts, experiences, and behaviors
    • Structured interview
      a data collection method that relies on asking pre-determined questions in a set order to collect data on a topic
    • Semi-structured interview
      research method that combines a pre-determined set of open questions (questions that prompt discussion) with the opportunity for the interviewer to explore particular themes or responses further
    • Unstructured interview
      a type of interview where interviews do not use any pre-determined questions and instead the interviewer asks open questions based on a specific research topic, and will try to let the interview flow like a natural conversation
    • Likert scale
      a rating scale used to measure opinions, attitudes, or behaviours by respondents indicating their level of agreement/disagreement with a particular statement
    • Rating scale
      A rating scale where respondents are asked to identify a value (number) that represent their view on a topic
    • Fixed choice option
      where respondents are given a list of options and are required to indicate the ones that apply to them
