  Cuthbert was a Northumbrian monk with a great reputation for Christian holiness who, after his death in 687, had many miracles attributed to him.
• Prince Bishop

  The Bishop of Durham from 1056 to 1071. Æthelwine remained as bishop of Durham after 1066 and pledged his loyalty to the new Norman King when William came to York in 1068.
