  • right wing nationalists created a league known as the white terror movement to kill prominent politicians and anyone involved in the weimar republic's "betrayal"
  • in august 1921, the white terror movement assassinated former finance minister Matthias Erzberger, and on June 24th 1922, foreign minister Walther Rathenau was killed.
  • from 1919 to 1923, there were 376 political assassinations, of which 22 were by the left wing, and 354 were by the right. however, biased right-wing judges allowed 326 assassinations to go unpunished, whereas 10 of the left-wing assassins were sentenced to death.
