Diffusion can't happen in solids as particles can't move and no passive energy needed
Osmosis
Movement of water molecules from a dilute solution to a concentrated solution, through a partiallypermablemembrane
Diffusion
Movement of particles from a high to lowconcentration, down the concentrationgradient
Things that can effect the transport in cells:
The size of molecule
Temperature
Concentration gradient
The permeability of cellmembrane
Active transport
Movement of particales from an area of low to highconcentration, against the concentration gradient, using energy
When osmosis occurs in an animal cell it can change the shape and size and even durst if they take too much water in by osmosis. This happens because animal cellsdon't have a cell wall.
