The Nepal Earthquake occurred on 25 April 2015, with the epicentre 80 kilometres away from the capital city Kathmandu.
The earthquake measured 7.8 on the MMS and its focus was 15km beneath the ground. Two aftershocks took place of 6.6 and 6.7 on the MMS.

9000 people died and 17000 were injured.
Electricity, water supplies and communication networks affected. 90% of schools and clinics in some areas left unusable.

Mount Everest experienced avalanche killing 19 people. Landslides produced by earthquake affected villages and Kathmandu city.
Economic Impacts
€10 billion worth of damage done to property. 1 million children left without schools to attend. 3.7 million people in need of emergency aid (food,water, tents, medical attention)
