  • In March 1489, the treaty of Medina Del Campo was signed between Henry VII and Ferdinand of Spain. it included a betrothal between Henry's eldest son Arthur and Ferdinand's daughter Catherine of Aragon, meaning the Anglo-Spanish alliance would be cemented by marriage.
  • Ferdinand and Henry established a trade relationship and Ferdinand agreed not to help any english rebels. they agreed that if one went to war with France, the other would help, which was very likely as spain wanted to claim french Pyrenean territory, and England was chasing the French lands of Normandy and Aquitaine, and these were pivotal french territories
