  • Emergency Banking Relief (1933) and Glass-Steagall Acts restored faith in the banks
  • Alphabet Agencies created jobs. Between 1929 and 1949 the Public Works Administration employed over 3 million - they constructed 13,000 schools 50,000 miles of road, and dams to produce electricity

  • The Works Progress Administration (WPA) employed 8.5 million people. It built 1000 airport landing fields, 8000 schools and hospitals, 12,000 playgrounds, 10,000 bridges, and 500,000 miles of road
  • The Agricultural Adjustment Act (AAA) reduced production to raise farm income from $4.5 billion (1932) to $6.9 billion (1935). However, the killing of 6 million piglets when many were starving caused public outcry.
