  • After WW2, there was lots of migrants from the Caribbean, Southern Asia and the far east, who clustered into the inner city due to the cheap housing (just outside CBD)
  • These migrants filled gaps in the labour market such as taxi drivers, retail workers, and cleaners - all of which are low skilled jobs
  • This influx of migrants created new services such, as money transferring centers, for migrants to send back remittances to their country of origin
  • The 'Balti triangle' was also established in Birmingham which is an area with a high concentration of ethnic restaurants which were established by migrants
