  • The majority of the tourists are wealthy than the residents at Raval - this means that the flagship projects, and surrounding facilities, are not accessible to the locals due to wealth disparities
  • Gentrification of North and South Raval (refurbishment of the area by wealthy individuals) causes the property prices to increase drastically, which the locals can no longer afford and so they're forced out
  • The loss of locals in the area also causes SME's located in the area, who rely on their regular customers, to close down as their product/service is not tailored or intended to tourists and wealthier residents
  • This loss of locals also leads to a lack of cultural diversity
