      A chemical reaction that converts the chemical energy in food into other forms of energy. It is the release of energy from food

      Uses O2 to releases energy

      Glucose + Oxygen -> Carbon Dioxide + Water + Energy

      C6H12+6O2-> 6CO2 + 6H2O + Energy
    • Anerobic Respiration 

      Is respiration without oxygen, it produces lactic acid or alcohol and CO2
    • Factors affecting the Rate of Respiration
      • Glucose availability (fuel)
      • O2 supply (only for aerobic)
      • H2O in cell
      • Temperature (as it is controlled by enzymes they work the best in certain temperatures)
