    • Paternalistic - prefer a conciliary foreign policy approach to defend nationalistic values
    • Against supranationality as it threatens national sovereignty
    • One Nation caucus 2019 -> “We believe the state must have an active role in fighting injustices”
  • Neo-conservatives
    • Agreed with the noblesse oblige of welfare provision but thought One Nation conservatives went too far and created a dependency culture.
    • Brand the social and sexual revolution as immoral, believing it harms traditional values.
    • Promote anti-permissiveness.
  • Neo-liberals
    • State should not infringe on personal libety
    • Believe in negative freedoms
    • Prefer atomistic society and a minimal state
    • Distrust institutions like the EU as threats to individual freedom and autonomy
  • Neo-liberals
    • Rand and Nozick -> opposed to state intervention as it creates a dependency culture and undermines individual freedoms
    • Nozick -> advocated for the legalisation of hard drugs and prostitution which opposed the religious morality of neo-conservatives
