  2. Prophethood- Muhammad was the last
  3. Justice of God
  4. The Imamate- 12 Imams are the leaders
  5. They will be resurrected to be judged
• Some Muslims thought Muhammad had named his cousin Ali as his successor. He and his supporters thought the Imam had to be a descendant of Muhammad and chosen by God
• Shi'a Muslims only accept says of Muhammad that were passed down by Ali or his followers.
