Unit 1 - Data - Basics

• Unstructured data refers to data that a computer can't process, and that only humans can interpret and study
• 2 examples of unstructured data:

  Image

  Meaning of a block of text
• Info is data that has been processed to give it meaning or context
• Matplotlib allows you to draw graphs in a window using python
• PandaS allows you to manipulate data, such as data tables (tabular data)
• Data is just values
• Information is data that is easier to understand as context is provided
• Knowledge is conclusions drawn from info and experience
• Big data is data that businesses use to find market trends, etc
• Big data encourages technological growth, as the data becomes harder to transport and store the larger it gets
• The total data in earth gets bigger as more inputs are processed to be used
