practical: why does plant need co2 (5)
to show why co2 is needed for
photosynthesis
you will need: plant, source of light, sealed bell jar,
soda lime
place plant + soda lime inside sealed bell jar
the soda lime will absorb the co2 inside bell jar
leave plant for a while + come back to test for
starch
. you will notice it won't turn blue-black
this indicates that no starch has been made in the leaf, therefore co2 is needed for photosynthesis
