antibiotic resistant bacteria

• bacteria can sometimes develop random mutations which can lead to antibiotic resistant strains forming as the gene for antibiotic resistance becoming more common in the population

• in farming, antibiotics are used to precent animals becoming sick and making them grow faster but can lead to antibiotic resistant bacteria in animals which can spread to humans eg during meat preperations and consumption.
