• Most female criminals are working class and thus the least likely to be affected by womens’ liberation
• Chesley and Lind 1997: In the US, poor and marginalised women more likely to be criminals and women branched into drug crimes due to their link with prostitution (an unliberated offense) 
• Ladley and Hunt 2001: female gang members expected to conform to conventional gender roles and non-deviant girls
