  • Indigenous Knowledge: It is a means by which the
    culture is preserved, handed down and adapted. A unique to a special culture or society, most often it is not written down. The transmission of information is through local channels or forms.
  • Indigenous Media: defined as forms of media expression conceptualized, produced, and circulated by indigenous peoples around the globe as vehicles for communication.
  • Library: a place in which literary, musical, artistic, or reference materials are kept for use but not for sale.
  • Types of Library:
    • Academic: serves colleges and universities
    • Public: serves cities and towns
    • School: serves students from kindergarten to grade 12
    • Special: specialized environments.
  • Internet: is a global computer network providing a variety of information and communication facilities, consisting of interconnected networks using standardized communication protocols
  • Search Engine: a program that searches for and identifies items in a database that correspond to keywords or characters specified by the user, used especially for finding sites on the World Wide Web.
  • Evaluating Information found on the Internet:
    • Authorship
    • Accuracy and verifiability
    • Published body
    • Currency
  • Reliability of Information on the Internet:
    • Check the author
    • Check the date of publication or of update
    • Check the captions
    • Check the domain or owner of the site/page.
