  • Gottesman (1991) - Meta-Analysis of Twin Studies:
    Found there was a concordance rate of schizophrenia of MZ twins = 48%
    17% in DZ Twins
  • Conclusions from Gottesman:
    • Since MZ twins share 100% of genes, this shows that genes plays a large role, however there is a large contributing factor.
  • Phineas Gage - iron tamping bar went through his eye socket and came out the top of his head.
    • Survived the accident - underwent a personality change - frontal lobe = damaged - responsible for decision making, social behaviour and impulse control.
