Causes
vesicles
to release a
neurotransmitter
into the
synapse
.
What is a Vesicle?
A
small
sack
of
fluid
What does the N stand for?
The
neurotransmitter
then crosses the
synapse
and binds to the
receptor
sites on the
dendrite
of the post synaptic neuron.
What does the E stand for?
Causes
an
electrical
impulse to fire down the
post synaptic
neuron
.
What happens if the neurotransmitter is Excitatory?
It
causes
the post synaptic neuron to
fire.
What happens if the neurotransmitter is inhibitory?
It
prevents
the post synaptic neuron from
firing.
What is summation?
