  • Lady Macbeth, mocking Macbeth for feeling guilty, commenting on the colour of her hands:
    “My hands are of your colour, but I shame to wear a heart so white”
  • The porter of Macbeth’s castle, pretending to be a porter to the gates of hell and commenting on how often he would have to turn the key:
    “If a man were porter of hell-gate, he should have old turning the key”
  • Lady Macbeth would rather kill her own child than go back on the agreement to kill Duncan:
    "And dash'd the brains out"
