• Rump was only ever intended to be a temporary measure.
• Refused to accept Heads of Proposals as basis of reform.
• In 1651 voted to disband itself in 1654.
• In 1653 proposing to hold new elections on the existing franchise in which a committee of Rumpers would vet MP’s.
• Established Committee to draft plans for new representatives. This will leave current MP’s in situ.
