Elasticity

• Force (N)= spring constant (N/m) x extension (m)
• The extension of an object is proportional to the force applied.
• Elasticity required practical:

  1. Use a clamp stand and clamp to attach a ruler and spring
  2. Measure length of spring with no force acting upon it
  3. Add 1N weight and measure the extension on the spring
  4. Repeat, adding 1N more on each time
  5. Record weight, original length, stretched length and extension in a table
