• 2007 - the Princesshay mixed-use city centre redevelopment was opened, replacing and unattractive, dated post-war facility. It contains retail units, flats, cafes, and restaurants. It attracts tourists by showing public art and hosting events and festivals, hoping to be a secure and safe setting for city centre living and night-time economy
• 2019 - new plan for a nearby development called CityPoint was unveiled with plans for the redevelopment of the old bus station into hotels, bars and office space.
