  -Allows for replicability so can assess for reliability and increase validity.
• High validity and reliability

  -Footage can be rewatched by same or different observers. This means multiple people can watch recording and correlated their results on what they see.

  -Removal of observer means increased validity.
• Supporting research

  -Isabella et al observed 30 mothers and infant pairs.

  -Infant-caregiver pairs defined as 'securely attached' interacted in a more reciprocal and synchronous manner than 'insecurely attached'.
• Issues with inferences

  -Can't establish if infants are producing a behaviour to intentionally interact with caregiver.

  -Can't say if it's a specific meaning or unconscious reaction to respond to the action.
