Living Conditions

• Basic minimal housing - wooden hut, outside toilet, well for water.
• Unchanged by Stalins policies - had not been improved as previously promised
• Villages received little to no investment

  did not benefit from leisure activities, as seen in larger towns
• Little food remained on farms for workers - had to travel to cities for food

  Queues in towns for bread made it even harder for those in the countryside to get hold of food

  Peasants didn't have as much to eat as town workers, as they weren't seen to be important
