  The National Industrial Recovery Act of 1933

  • Had offered some protection to workers

  (Supreme court labelled law invalid in 1935)

  Wagner declared NLRB otherwise known as the Wagner Act

  1. Strengthened labour unions
  2. Workers were entitled to join unions which could operate closed shops.
  3. Offered federal protection to Unions

  (a closed shop is where all employees of a company had to join a union chosen by majority)
