Women were paid less than men: In 1937 a woman earned around half the wage of a man.
The number of women in professional jobs fell from 14.2% to 12.3%
Alphabet agencies provided far more help for men than they did women; the CCC created 2.5 million jobs for men, whereas camps for women offered only 5,000 places a year.
