Calling people to Islam

• The prophet started preaching islam secretly to people, and the first ones to accept Islam were his wife Khadija, his Cousin Ali bin Abu Talib, his friend Abu Bakr bin Qahafa and his slave Zaid bin Harisa.There were also some more early converts of Islam.
• When a revelation came commanding the prophet to preach to his relatives, he invited his relatives and tribe to dinner at his house, but after dinner nobody responded to his message except Ali bin Abu Talib and then the elders laughed and dispersed.
• When a revelation came to preach Islam openly, he gathered the people of Makkah at the Safa hills and asked that if he told them that there was an army behind the hills, would they believe him, and they responded with a yes as they had never heard him say a lie, but when he invited them to islam, they turned away.
