    • Any person, or sometimes an animal, or figure represented in a literary work. 
  • CHARACTER

    • Important in the story
  • MINOR CHARACTER
    • Usually static or unchanging.
  • PROTAGONIST
    • Whom the reader emphasizes

    • Time, place, and environment in which the story takes place. 
    • Also include the historical context, mood, and sensory details.
  • TIME
    • When is the story taking place? (historical period, time of day, year, etc.)

    • Is it rainy, sunny, stormy, etc.?

    • What is the daily life of the characters like?
