    • Opcode is the instruction the processor executes and the addressing mode
    • Operand is the data that is used in the instruction
    • Addressing mode specifies whether the operand is the numerical value or the address of the data or a register
    • Immediate addressing uses the operand as datum
    • Direct addressing uses the data as an address instead of a value
