  • Literature is any printed matter written on a book, a magazine or a pamphlet.
  • Literature is a blend of man's manifold experiences, interpreted in words of charm and power, touched with the personality of the author, in artistic forms of permanent interests.
  • Literature helps us learn about human problems and difficulties, universality of such problems and ways to overcome them.
  • Literature makes us better human beings, allows us to appreciate international understanding and world peace, and allows us to go to places we've never been, meet persons we've never met, and encounter ideas that never crossed our minds.

  • POETRY - refers to those expressions in verse, with measure and rhyme, line and stanza, has a more melodious tone
