  • Non-linear texts are interpretations of information presented graphically
  • A visual representation of data is called Graph
  • Bar Graphs presents data using vertical or horizontal bar
  • Pie Chart shows how a whole is divided into parts
  • Line graph shows the progression of something over time
  • Pictograph uses icons or images to represent data
  • Titles are usually brief but descriptive and are placed at the top of the graph or chart
  • Labels are usually placed within or next to the element to which they refer
  • Numerical values are usually explicitly stated. Like labels, they are placed within or near their referents. 
  • Legends and keys provide explanations of the lines, numbers, and letters of a graph or chart. 
  • Conclusions are statements made based on the information provided by the text.
