• What does UNDHR stand for?

  The United Nations Declaration of Human Rights

• Why didn’t all countries sign the UNDHR?

  Because it conflicted with beliefs, eg: Saudi Arabia was strictly Muslim and ignores right 18 surrounding religion.
• What is the Geneva Convention?

  Rules against war crimes created in 1949
• What happens if you break the rules of the Geneva Convention?

  You may be tried in the International Criminal Court
• Why is trying people in the ICC hard?

  Not all countries recognise the ICC, agree with it, and gathering evidence is very hard
• What is the ECHR?

  European Court of Human Rights
• What does the ECHR do?

  Allows Europe power to prosecute, undermining national sovereignty
• What is the UK human rights act 1998?

  Rules adopted to align with the ECHR, therefore avoiding conflict
