    • NICS (newly industrialised countries) are some centers of manufacturing which comprise a majority of their economy. These countries are likely to continue advancing due to their advancements of their economy towards industrialisation.
    • What countries are NIC?
      NIC countries are China, India, the Phillipines, Thailand, Malaysia, Turkey, South Africa, Brazil, and Mexico.
    • More developed countries refer to countries that are developed or industrialised. These countries are the United States, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, and the European countries.
    • Population growth occurs when the birth rate is higher than the death rate, when migration occurs, or when life expectancy increases.
    • Migration can be caused by:
      Negative: Natural disasters, bad economy, crime rate, harsh climate, unfair laws, wars
      Positive: Better healthcare, job opportunities, nice climate, better education system, freedom of religion, and landscape.
    • Sparsely populated countries are countries with a large area but low in population.
    • Densely populated countries are countries with a small area but big population.

    • Factors that affect the population density is the birth rate and death rate, migration, urbanization, geographical features, economic opportunities, government policies, and infreastructure.
    • Favoring factors for human settlement:
      • Availability of resources: Access to water, fertile land, and natural resources.
      • Social and cultural factors: Factors like community ties, cultural heritage, and access to education and healthcare.
    • Non favoring factors for human settlement:
      • Harsh climate and geography: Extreme weather conditions, rugged terrain, or lack of natural resources.
      • Environmental hazards: High risk of natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, or hurricanes can discourage settlement in certain areas.
