what are the 3 different types of blood vessels?
arteries, veins, capillaries
what do artery's do?
carry the oxygenated blood away from the heart
what do veins do?
carry deoxygenated blood back to the heart.
what does the arteries structure include?
thick and elastic walls, small lumen
what does vein structure include?
thin walls, large lumen and valves
what does the capillary structure include?
narrow lumen and a wall which is one cell thick
capillaries have thin walls so they can easily complete gas exchange
why do capillaries have permeable walls?
so substances can diffuse in and out
what do red blood cells do?
Transport oxygen
what do white blood cells do?
Fight infections
what do platelets do?
helps blood clotting
what is plasma? 
a liquid that carries everything
