  • there was frequent complaints about lack of justice and nobles taking matters into their own hands rather than going to the King as they had no faith in him
  • Edward made it clear he was determined to enforce the law. he travelled to the midlands and the north where there had been disturbances
  • Edward attempted to deal with the nobles having private armies. in 1468 keeping one was made illegal but he didn't enforce it
  • towards the end of his reign disorder was increasing and there was frustration due to poor harvests, economic hardship and especially the waste of taxpayers money by the King
