• Biology is derived from two Greek words, bio and logos which means life and course of study

• Botany is the branch of science that deals with the study of plants
• The three branches of Biology are Zoology, Botany and Microbiology
• Microbiology is the branch of science that studies organisms too small to be seen by naked eyes
• Ecology is the branch of biology which deals with the relationship between living things and their environment
