• • Women are paid less (glass ceiling - men in the same employment are likely to get paid more) → harder to get essentials - can lead to material deprivation
• • Women are more likely to end up lone-parent → less income for the family - only one income and can be multiple people that have to live off of that income
• • Having children and holding a career can be difficult - dual burden
• • Patriarchy → women are less likely to get the higher paying jobs - glass ceiling - women can see the jobs but are discriminated against and unable to get to them because of they are discriminated against and not allowed to get into the higher paying jobs
• • There is sexism
