microsystems - made up of the groups that have direct contact with our immediate surroundings.
example: family, friends, home, & school
mesosystem - the relationship between the groups from the first system. refers to the connection between the different microsystems in our life.
example: relationship between the child and his parents or his teacher
macrosystem- bigger cultural and societal factors that shape our experiences. affects the individual & everyone around them. can have a positive or negative effect on the child.
ex. cultural values, customs, laws
exosystem - includes external indirectly affect us, like our parents' workplace or government policies. the elements of this system don;t have a direct relationship with the individual.
ex. location, schedule
chronosystem - these systems evolve and change overtime, and it considers the impact of historical events or age-related transitions on our development.
