    • Fertilization in plants occurs when pollen grains and ovules meet to create a diploid zygote that eventually develops into an embryo in the form of seeds
    • Pollination is the process wherein pollen grains from the male component of the flower are carried to the female components
    • External Fertilization  happens when both the sperm and eggs were released into an external environment
    • Internal Fertilization is characterized by the fusion of sperm and egg within the female’s body
    • In oviparity, the fertilized egg is laid outside the female’s body
    • In ovoviviparity, the fertilized eggs are held within female’s body
    • In viviparity, embryos develop within the female’s body and then followed by live birth
    • Fertilization is important in fusing genetic materials of both genetic in the new individual
